What You’ll Find in Worship
At both Seward and Moose Pass United Methodist Churches you’ll find welcoming congregations engaged in traditional worship along with some contemporary and creative elements. Seward is our bigger congregation while we usually have a small group at Moose Pass. During worship we lift up our prayers, we read Scripture, and we have a message. We do have Holy Communion regularly and you’re more than welcome to join in the meal with us.
You may wonder what attire is appropriate for worship. Well, probably whatever you left the house in. Alaskans have a casual approach to attire and the same holds true in our churches. We will welcome you no matter how stylish or un-stylish your clothes are. You don’t have to impress us.
And, feel free to bring the kids. Children are always welcome. In fact, we like having kids in worship. At Seward UMC we do have a children’s nursery available during the message time. But, otherwise, we hope the kids will be part of the worship service, participating along with the rest of us.
At Seward we always have some fellowship time with coffee and snacks after worship. And, on the first Sunday of the month we usually have a pot-luck. We’d love to sit and chat with you as we use this time to help nurture our relationships with our members and those who join us on any given Sunday.
