Moose Pass – Up and running

After two Sundays without power or heat, the problem as been resolved and Moose Pass UMC will conduct it’s first services on Sunday in the newly renovated sanctuary which includes new ceiling, new flooring, light fixtures and a new outside storage facility all with electric and heat. All of this was made possible by a dedicated and talented VIM (Volunteers in Mission) from North Carolina.
Also Sue McClure will once again be with us to bring her musical talent on the piano.
We will begin the service at 9:00 am. Hope to have you with us.

“Getting to Know You”

Ever get a song stuck in your head? I think we all have at one time or another. “Getting to Know You” has been playing over and over in my brain for the last couple of days. I guess it’s my subconscious trying to tell me something.
We have come to a new and exciting place and everything is strange to us; it looks different, the weather is certainly different, the smells are even different and that is not a bad thing, it’s just different.
We have been received with gracious smiles and open hospitality. We spent the night with Rose and Jeff in Moose Pass and they were wonderful and the same thing for Keith and Jackie in Seward, in spite, of Keith being sick and not feeling well. We had a great evening and pot luck with folks in Moose Pass as we bid farewell to the amazing VIP team from North Carolina. We have hiked with Sue and with Duane and Karen and the views were overwhelming. The only down side has been the delayed arrival of our household belonging from Tucson. But they have been scheduled to come to Seward Monday after the 4th of July.
So you see why the song keeps poping up….that’s what we are doing…..”Getting to Know You” and this place that God has called us to serve.
On a final note (no pun intended) I want to thank Peter Perry, not only for the wonderful and outstanding work that he has done in Seward and Moose Pass, but for the warm welcome and all the help he has provided to Patty and me.
We are looking forward to getting to know the rest of you. For now it would be nice just to hear a different tune of a change.
