Sylvia and Lon light the unity candle at their wedding…

Both the Seward and Moose Pass churches are available for weddings of non-members. In general, weddings must be conducted by our pastor or other recognized clergy persons.
Your wedding is an act of worship and praise.
We believe that marriage is a gift from God, and we celebrate marriage as a holy event in the lives of the couple and their guests.
A wedding is a celebration of love, and while receptions, photographs and all the other customs of modern weddings are welcome here as a part of your special day, worship and praise centered on your promises to each other and to God should form the heart of your wedding ceremony.
Meeting with the pastor
Premarital counseling is generally required for couples being married at our churches. It is recommended that the first session be scheduled at least two months prior to the wedding. At this meeting, the pastor will get to know the couple and explore the couple’s understanding of marriage, as well as discuss plans for the service. Following this preliminary meeting, the pastor may schedule additional meetings with the couple. A wedding rehearsal is highly recommended for all but the simplest of wedding services.
Costs
We request a donation for the use of the building, grounds, and pastor’s time. Musicians are available through the church and an honorarium for musicians is expected.
Off Site Weddings
The pastor is also available to do wedding services off-site in and around Seward and Moose Pass. A sample wedding service can be found below:
