Seward Memorial United Methodist Church is a congregation in Seward, Alaska. We seek to experience the fullness of life in God through our daily walk as followers of Jesus Christ. We are here because over a century ago, faithful Christians in the United Methodist tradition believed it was important to extend the church into the territory of Alaska. We worship year-round at 11 AM.
Our congregation has a long history of working with other churches in the city of Seward for the community at large. You will find us participating in (and often leading) our local ministerial association. We join with other churches for soup suppers and worship during Advent and Lent. We have been long-time supporters of the local food bank and the nursing home. We have also had a continued relationship with the local hospital (with the pastor serving on the local board) and downtown local businesses.
You may find us participating in our downtown’s First Friday Art Walk or other local festivities.
We are constantly trying to find ways for our members and friends to be engaged in local missions in their own neighborhoods and within their own relationships.
We have been known for certain things over the years: our Fourth of July Pie Sale, our Bell Choir and support of the arts, and our ministry to and with children.
