ATTENTION: BLANKETS NEEDED
There is a "Seward Cares Event' happening on January 29th at Seward Church of the Nazarene from 9 AM to 3 PM. This is "a One-Day community event that provides One-Stop for housing, support, and quality of life resources, with the One-Goal of ending homelessness. Many service organizations in our community will be present and helping that day.
Individuals (and families) in need who attend will be offered some free services and will be offered some assistance to begin or continue their processes in finding stable housing. They will also be given some items that can help as they struggle with homelessness. A BLANKET is one of those things.
The local churches in Seward are trying to come up with
FORTY (40) GOOD CONDITION BLANKETS (OR THROWS). THEY CAN BE NEW OR LIGHTLY USED.
All blankets will be handed out -- either on that day or through other services in the community that address matters related to unstable housing conditions.
See if you have any spare blankets or throws around your home.
Bring them to church January 19th or 26th.
They will then be brought to the two Seward Cares Collection points -- the Independent Living Center and Qutekcak Tribe Office.
And, if you'd like to help out at the event, you can sign up here:
