Worship for 11 October 2020

Out of an abundance of care and caution, the people of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Moose Pass United Methodist Church, and Seward United Methodist Church continue to bring you an online worship experience. Even as we move toward gathering together, carefully, we recognize that it is safer for many to continue with “virtual worship.”

Today, Rev. Ben Bohart continues our journey through the Book of Exodus with the account of “The Golden Calf.” Rev. Jim Doepken leads prayers and introduces a Sock Puppet Children’s Sermon as we begin our Sock Collection for “SOCKTOBER.” We also talk about Pastor Appreciation with a word on how you can pray for your pastors. Plus, two appreciated pastors, Rev. Ron Nitz (from Resurrection Lutheran Church) and Rev. David Byrum (Rev. Doepken’s former youth leader) provide two of our Scripture readings. We also have a blessing from five more appreciated pastors, the bishops of the Western Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church, to close out our worship.

There are some “Thank Yous” that we need to offer for the service today:

—Thank you to Nathan Drake of Reawaken Hymns for “He Leadeth Me”

—Thank you to Phil Moore from Cornerstone Worship for his version of “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and to Rory McClure for the adaptation of the original video

—Thank you to the Doepken family for “I’ll Fly Away”

—Thank you to the kids from Bexley UMC in Bexley, OH for the children’s sermon for today.

—Thanks, as usual, to Sue McClure for pre-worship music that is provided as a separate video upload.

Worship will be “Premiered” on the Seward/Moose Pass UMC Facebook page at 10:30 AM but will thereafter be available on the Facebook Page and our YouTube Channel. You may also find Sue McClure’s pre-worship music there.
